As well as engineering and production work, Justin’s portfolio includes recording/editing for BBC radio, composing music for film/TV, solo output as the artist ‘Just’ and collaborative releases with ‘Messrs Kelly I.A. & Richards J.V.M.’. Freelance work is based in the northwest of England, but his personal studio is fully capable for overdubs and mixing. Justin is also a part-time lecturer in Music Technology at Salford University.
About Justin
Justin Richards has been a freelance music producer and sound engineer for over twenty years. Having learned traditional, tape-based engineering skills, he combined this ethos with being a fast and efficient user of Pro Tools and Logic. This has led to him being known for his attention to detail alongside a practical, organic approach to making music.
Currently, he is working on a number of long-term projects including; Vini Reilly’s early work with Gammer, a body of Neo-Classical compositions, and developing production work with the indie band The Cuza.
